I'M SORRY!!

I owe all of you an apology that there has been so little activity in this club over the last couple months.  Once again, I was ambushed by real life, and lost all form of Internet connection from home.  Since my access to the net from a public computer is really limited, I favored because that club is far more active and has far more members.  

I have not forgotten about The Horse Modeling Guild, though, and it is not a dead club.  I have many things that I want to do, and it's frustrating that I don't have the means to do them at this moment.  Please, be patient.  I have made getting Internet access back from home a high priority in my life, and it will happen eventually.  In the meantime, updates will be slow coming, but I will try to make more time to update when and where I can.

All of you can help make this club more active much sooner, though.  Would you like to share a tutorial with all of us?  Would you like to share you adventures in collecting or showing?  Write up an article and submit it in a note, and I'll use it as content in updating the club journal.

What is the Horse Modeling Guild and how is it unique from other horse clubs on deviantART?

The Horse Modeling Guild, or HMG for short, is a horse club devoted exclusively to collecting, customizing, and showing model horses.  HMG is dedicated to the full hobby of model horses, but will place special emphasis on the crafts of customizing, making tack, building dioramas, and model horse photography.  The goal of this club is to help it's members prepare their horses for photo shows and live shows elsewhere.  

HMG is not a place for paintings and drawings of horses.  There are several other clubs in existence that already do an excellent job of covering those niches.  To find a more generalized horse art club, look through our affiliates at the bottom of this journal entry.

What can I expect from The Horse Modeling Guild?

Photos of horses that have been customized by club members.
Tutorials on various techniques written by club members.
Images from past photo shows that club members of entered.
Pictures from live shows that club members have attended.
Advice from club members for club members on buying, selling, and trading model horses.
Club contests to let you practice and hone your customizing, diorama building, and model horse photography skills.
Articles on horse colors, patterns, breed specific anatomy, genetics, tack, horse cultures, and other things that will aid you in creating the ultimate model horses.
Articles about various aspects of the hobby such as sire and dam lists, racing model horses, breeding model horses, building a show record, and other things that tend to confuse people that are new to the hobby.
Articles on elite artists in the hobby and industry.
Articles on the business aspect of the model horse industry.
Articles on new releases, limited editions, and special runs.
Articles on the real life horses that inspired the creation of many models.
Links to photo shows and other events pertaining to the model horse world on the net.
Links to active model horse sales pages.

…but not all at once or right away.  Over time, this club journal will develop into an ever-growing virtual magazine.  Old journal entries will not be deleted.  A directory will be created to allow you to quickly find the information you need.

What can I expect from the HMG admin?

I will respond to all notes in a timely manner.
I will always be polite and respectful.
I will keep the club active.
I will submit your images to the club gallery as soon as is practical.
I will add new members to the club as soon as is practical.
I will be an active and responsible club administrator.

By the way, her name is Shawna Lynn Ballard, better known around dA as ~Silvermare.  She is the sole administrator for both this club and ~hfc.  She does EVERYTHING pertaining to the administration and moderation of both clubs.  In addition to this, she also devotes a lot of her time to art, writing, photography, exploring the desert, and other real life matters.  She is also an admin in training to a model horse forum outside of dA.  She graduated from high school over ten years ago and is not currently taking any college courses, so at least you don't have to worry about any interference of that sort.  Please patient.  She may not always be able to answer your note as immediately as you may like, but she will get to every note in as timely a manner as is practical.
